I was looking at the prices of genuine leather sofas at the furniture store the other day and I noticed just how expensive they were. Then some other couch caught my eye and I read the label and it said it was made of bonded leather which I had not heard of before. I did some research on the Internet and I found out that bonded leather is actually made from small pieces of leather and a vinyl type material. It was every bit as comfortable as the genuine leather sofa I sat on earlier. The bonded leather furniture was at least 30% less expensive than the top grain leather products. Apparently synthetic leather is not the same as bonded leather because bonded leather actually contains real leather pieces and synthetic is made purely of plastic. My research also suggested that bonded leather was easy to clean and not as susceptible to stains as 100% genuine leather might be.
